Product description
Newer vehicles are fitted with variable voltage charging systems to help reduce emissions, this means conventional VSR relays are no longer appropriate to use.
Don't worry though, we have it covered with the intelligent Victron Orion Smart charger. This unit is highly reliable and has built-in Bluetooth for monitoring and changing settings to suit your requirements.
The charger has a remote port that can be used to connect to an ignition live or remote switch, although thanks to the engine-on detection, this isn't required in most installations.
Smart alternator compatibility
Using engine running detection, the Orion XS guarantees the charger only draws power when the engine is running. It also helps retrieving a proper charge current from smart alternators as found in Euro 5 & Euro 6 engines.
Adaptive charge algorithm
The Orion XS features customizable and preset charging algorithms for lithium and lead-acid batteries, ensuring optimal recharging, for both shallow and deep discharges.
Complete electronic protection
The Orion XS comes equipped with comprehensive electronic protection against overload, short circuit and excessive temperatures. It will automatically reduce the output power when maximum product temperature is reached.
Low temperature shutdown & undervoltage protection
To prevent damage of lithium batteries, the charger will turn off automatically at low temperatures and when the input voltage drops below a user-configurable lockout value, protecting the starter battery from deep discharge.
This kit comes with the wiring system built to the current British Standards and manufacturers specifications using professional equipment and expertise. It is fused at either side using 60A fuses to protect your cabling and the charger. The wiring system is made from 16.0mm2 wire and is fully labelled ready to install.
